#GivingTuesday Webinar Recap
In just two years, #GivingTuesday has gone from a ordinary fundraising event to an all-out digital movement. Founded in 2012, #GivingTuesday was developed to encourage charitable donations immediately after the major holiday shopping days. Today, more than 10,000 nonprofit organizations participate in #GivingTuesday all over the world.
As interest has grown in the movement, nonprofits are in need of methods to harness the power of digital media to make their #GivingDay initiatives a success. In August, Kimbia hosted a webinar designed to guide nonprofit organizations in their campaign planning and strategy for this year’s December 2nd #GivingTuesday. Joined by representatives from Charity Dynamics and Social Factor, Kimbia put together 15 steps to ensure #GivingTuesday success for nonprofit organizations. Director of Digital Strategy Rachel Lewis represented Social Factor on the webinar to offer suggestions and best practices for leveraging the scale and reach of social media to drive increased donations.
Above all else, Rachel emphasized the importance of maintaining the nonprofit’s voice, tone and brand identity on social media to give donors an authentic and consistent experience with the organization. She went on to stress that organizations must understand how user interaction differs on various social platform in order to best reach potential donors.
If you missed the webinar, Kimbia will hold two more in the coming months, the next on September 23rd. You may register for the webinar here. If you have questions as to how Social Factor can help your organization optimize #GivingTuesday, please reach out and let us help you win new donors and donations.
